Is it necessary to connect assign Tax code in Excise duty condition type ( BED,ECS,SCESS )
It is not necessary to assign Tax code in Excise Duty in Excise Condition Type. As Excise cond types are not Tax conditions, instead they are Surcharge Conditions.
what is the purpopse to assign Tax code in Excise condition type.
We assign Tax Codes only to tax Conditions. If you maintain the Cond Class- Taxes, in Cond rec-you need to maintain Tax codes, other wise not necessary.
Hope it helps

Hi there,
Tax codes are maintained so in FTXp for a particular jurisdiction, wherein you maintain the tax rate applicable for that jurisdiction.
For cnd types for excise or cess in SD, you do not need to assign the tax code. They are determined from the tax procedure.
Of you are using tax procedure TAXINJ, then you would assign the tax code to the cnd type UTXJ while maintaining its condition record. UTXJ would have acces seq JIND assigned to it.
In your sales pricing, there is one FI cnd type for the excise and there is one SD cnd type for EXcise. The rates are calculated in the tax procedure and copied in the SD pricing procedure.
Hope it helps.

hi
the importance of the tax code assign with the condition record for the appropriate cond type firstly it differenciate between full tax, half tax or no tax for both customer as well as material, secondly when it comes to excise type it exactly sits in the right GL A/C for bed, ecess and cess, thirdly the submission of mandatory excise register for excise authorities like ER4, ER12 rightly maintained, etc.
i hope this info, you find it useful.
