Hello,
I would like to copy Named Searches created in one repository to another repository. Is this possible?
Is there any way to copy the Free-form Search text so it can be pasted to another free-form search of document? You can copy the text but the Paste function is not availble in MDM or any other document such as Word.
thanks
Tammi
Hi Tammi,
There were many queries people had with the transport mechanism in MDM 5.5 version.Wherein User cannot transport individual object like Workflows,Validation expressions etc from one REpository to teh other.
SO SAP has come with the CTS+ transport system which is similar to the Trnasport system in an ABAP environment.Where individual objects can be treated separtely for transport form one system to the other.
You will have to try out with the 7.1 verison to find out if they ave included the Named search also as an separte object allowed to be transported.
This link will help you in finding this out:
Transport Functionality of MDM 7.1
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

Tammi,
Well, i would say the answer is NO; but have some workaround.
"NO" Reason : Since free-form search more than one field text will be involved; its difficult to copy all those.
Workaround: Try to build a validation and make this callable and call this in Expression editor of free-form search. Where validation is part of transportable objects in 7.1 release.
do write for further clarifications.
thanks.
