automatic packing

Hi,

I am trying to set up automatic packing in the delivery creation. For that I have set up all all the packing instructions, the determination records, the reference packaging material. However I need to know what would be the mtl type for the reference packaging mtl ? Would it be std VERP ?

HI,

ant type of material which is relavent for packing u can maitain packaging material.

check the box packing in material type settings in material management.

also make settings in material master in which u r using the material which should be used for packing in sales/general plant view.

VERP for standard packaging and LEIH for returnable packaging

yeah I know that the actual packaging mtl would be either a VERP of a LEIH. However I am asking about the reference packaging mtl which is assigned to the matl to be packed in the sales data view and the basic data view. You would be maintaining this reference material in the packing instruction. My question is what mtl type would be this refernce packaging mtl as it is only a placeholder for the various materials that need similar packaging.
