Hi,
I need to copy configuration settings of production client to a new client in development server. Which method I have to use remote client copy or client exxport import. Any one know the procedure how to do it???

Hello sapman,
client copy with export/import method is preferred if you are doing the copy of large databases.
But if your database is small.go for remote client copy
The method for remote client copy can be found in the link below:

Let me know of any issues

SAP_CUST profile will do. It copies the production client related customizing and you can take an export from the production system and import it on development using client export/import.

Hi,
Suppose if i go for Client export
I have 15gb free space in /usr/sap/trans , will it be sufficient, is there any way to check the required space in trans directory or only with experience we will be knowing?

S@PM@N ...
As far as i know, i havnt seen a test run for client export. 15 GB might be enough. Try running. if it fails, you can always delete those 3 files which is generated.
For the target system, Select the target system if the system is in the landscape. If its a new system and not in the landscape, create a virtual system on production through STMS. Then select this virtual system as target system when you take the export.
