Register CCMS agent

Dear All,

Subject: I want to configure central CCMS monitoring system

We have many server with differest versions like 4.6B, ECC6. I want to configure Central monitoring system keeping solman as CEN. Plz guide me..

1.CSMREG should be created in 000 client or in working client

2.Where should sapccm4x & sapccmsr agents should be registered [in each application server/central instance satellite server or in CEN server]

3. Is it necessary to restart the application to start the registered agent.

4. How can we verify weather the agent is started or not.

5. While registering sapccmsr in satellite system it is giving the error:EXCEPTION AUTHORITY_NOT_AVAILABLE RAISED for the user CSMREG in 000 client.

plz help on this..

Hello Krishna

1. user should be regsitered in the working client

2. you only need to register agents with remote system and not central system,the rest work can be done through RZ21 in central system

3. No it is not required

4. Agent is registered as a service,just check the service if it is running or not

5. this seems to be an RFC issue,check this or it can be an authorization issue

But i am having some doubts,

1.We have the many SAP servers and each one has more than 10 Application instance, should i register the agent in each application instance or in Central application server.

2. When should i register CCMSR agent, is this only if i want to monitor JAVA then only ? Can i register for 4.6B?

3. I am getting this error while registering the sapccm4x agent, kindly help to resolve this

ERROR: cannot open Config File pf=/usr/sap/_DVEBMGS00_FLAG-PROJECT for registration and finally exiting with the ERROR: can't register at D50. RfcRc = 6, ï¿¿ï¿¿

But i am able to register CCMSR agent with the same profile path.

You need to install in each Application instance (Every Physical host to be precise)

For JAVA Standalone also you need to install CCMSR Agent. Please check this for Installing the same on JAVA Standalone.

I recommend generate CSMCONF file and try again.

This should solve your problem.

Hi Krishna,

Please find my reply below.

First you have to configure the CEN system. Some background Jobs must be scheduled on Monitoring system (CEN) & Monitored system on Client 000.

So create a new CEN User for client 000 & schedule the required task using same.

1.) We generally prefer to Create CSMREG user on Client 000.

2.) Agents must be installed on Monitored host (OS level access required) & they should report to your SolMan.

3.) Application restart Not required.

4.) it will registered in OS running services with name SAPCCMSXXXX

5.) Try creating CSMREG user in client 000.
