Dear All,

We have 3 application servers 2 on Linux and 1 on hp-ux and also central instance is in hp-ux. Today morning I am working on production server normal, some users complain that they are not logon I am still connected on production server and run reports, also check database and all sap servers it is working but when I open gui and want to logon I canu2019t and gui also not show any output also I do in application server but result is same (also ping all sever ips it is working). After 3 or 4 minutes my all 3 or 4 session open for logon when I see the oracle alter file its show u201C ORA-000060: Deadlock detected u201C

In LAN point of view we are implemented VLAN. I donu2019t know what happened. Please check bellow alter file and as will as trace file

Hi,

Transactions deadlocked one another while waiting for the system resources.

Once Oracle detects a conflict between transactions, it will automatically stop the transaction of one of the sessions so they will not block each other for ever.

You will find more information by going through a trace file in the 

user_dump_dest

containing the objects involved.

during that error almost 20 users connected and also in sm50 no heavy transaction is runing i don;t know about the load of VLAN .

and other query is that how can we find the LAN our WAN load because it is also effect the performce and what is network performance check for SAP please guide me because when i see st03n our sm50 as will as stad no heavy reports or printing runing I tell the network admin to check ur side he say network is perfect

please guide me about this issue also

Hi,

Deadlock may not be a result of performance but performance may a result of deadlock. Please check your trace files as suggested above. I am sure that will help you.

Are your resources fine?

Check for the Log space /file system.

Check for jobs running on all the servers.
