Solution Manager 4 32 Bit to 64 Bit Migration

Hi

I have a Solution Manager 4 instance that is running an ABAP stack only,

running on MS Windows 2003 32 bit and MS SQL 2000, this is because we

upgraded from Solution Manager 3.2 and the server was never powerful

enough to host a Java stack.

I am now investigating migrating this Solution Manager 4 instance onto a

Windows 2003 64 bit environment, I have downloaded the Installation Master

for Solution Manager 4 SR4 (51033517) and have tried to install the target

system.

I have installed the db using the script SQL4SAP.vbs, then I restored the

source system DB backup (MS SQL 2000) into the MS SQL 2005 DB using

standard MS SQL tools.

I then used SAPINST to install the target system and chose option :

Software life-cycle Options --> System Copy --> Target System Installation

--> Central System --> Based on AS ABAP and AS Java --> Central System

I chose option 'Homogeneous system copy using MS SQL backup/restore' and

enter the DB SID I get the message <b>'No SAP data found in the database

<SID>!</b>'

Is this because I am trying to install a Solution Manager 4 system with an

ABAP + Java stack from a source ABAP system only? if so, how do I copy a

32 BIT ABAP only Solution Manager 4 to a 64 BIT Solution Manager 4 Dual

ABAP + Java stack ? looking at the options in SAPINST, there is no ABAP

only install, I was planning to install an Central ABAP instance, restore

from my source system, then finalise with a Java stack, but I cannot see

that option?

On NW04 system copies I normally install the central instance, install the

DB, restore the DB from the source system, run MS SQL tools to fix the DB,

but this option is not available with NW04S.

Thanks for any help.

Answer was to use the NW700 Master to migrate ABAP, then add Java from SM7 master DVD.
