Dear all
In MIC creation for a quantitative characteristics,I have entered ( no. of ) Decimal places=2, Target value= 30, Lower specification limit=29.70,Upper specification limit= 30.30. System gives a pop like " Value cannot be interpreted as floating point no. or longer than 22 characters". But if LSL and USL are entered as 29 and 30 respectively, they are accepted. So decimal places are not accepted.
Also I changed in System>>user profile>>own data>>default>>decimal notation as 1,234,567.89. Even now the problem of entering decimals exists. Please give me solutions.
regards
Selva
Hi Selva,
This is only the outcome of System>>user profile>>own data>>default>>decimal notation settings. Pl check it again.

Dear friends
The decimlas are accepted when "comma" is replaced for "dot" or mainly as suggested by Neeraj --> System>>user profile>>decimal notation- 1,234,567.89,
Thanks ®ards

Hello Selva,
This may be funny, but try ro replace dot by comma. I also came across same issue which resolved by this.

Selva,
Follow following:
SPRO -> QM -> Basic setting -> Maintain setting at plant level -> Select your plant and details -> Select message cat.Decimal places - it should be error message issued in your case.
Select it as "Information message issued"
Hopefully this one will help you.
Thanks!!!
