Hello everybody,
I am configuring SSL termination between a web dispatcher and a crm server. The web dispatcher has an alias and through this alias external users should be able to logon from the internet. The certificate should be generated for the alias or for the actual hostname of the web dispatcher?
Regards,
Ayax
Hi,
>The certificate should be generated for the alias or for the actual hostname of the web dispatcher?
The certificate has to be generated for the alias.

I need to talk with the network guys to clarify on this but I think that your answers are very helpful.

Thanks Olivier,
It is not clear to me how external users are going to access this resource, first I was told that it was going to be an alias but now it seems that it is going to be a redirect, the same applies for the certification generation?

Hi Alex,

Sorry? i don't understand your question.
If your users access your application thru a web dispatcher alias
eg : https://www.MyCompany.com
Even if www.MyCompany.com is an alias and the real hostname is WebdispHost.company.com the SSL server certificate must be for the alias. Otherwise the users will have a security popup in their browsers.
Regards,
Olivier
