Hi Experts,

Could you anybody explains me what are the phases in MDM implementation project. like ASAP.

What are the activities fall under functional scope and development/technical scope in MDM implementation phases.

Could you anybody explains me what are the phases in MDM implementation project.

The Phases for an MDM implementation project is same as for any other project which includes:

- The Requiremnet gathering

- Blue printing

- Designing

- Implementation

- Testing

- Go live

What are the activities fall under functional scope and development/technical scope in MDM implementation phases.

Keeping in mind an MDM project implementation process the following comes under the functional scope:

- Understanding the Business ladscape fully and correctly

- Studying the business masters involved in the project

- Functional SME will speciafically be looking in to this area to understand how the functional requirement maps with the MDM repository.

- Blue printing and designing is also taken care by the Functional team.

Technically:

- Designing the Repository in MDM

- Creating Validations and Assignments based on the business requirement.

- Creating workflows for the business process

- Handling imports and syndication

- Testing the entire flow

- Handling change requests.

Hi Kiran,

MDM implementation can be considered as any other SAP implementation.

These are some of the functional requirements

1. Gathering the requirements (Which tables and fields are to be in MDM, roles, security, processes, validations, workflows, assignments etc.,)

2. Designing the business process

3. Input systems, out put systems etc.,

These are some of the Technical requirements:

1. Hardware sizing and scope.

2. Table and field settings (repository and DB settings)

3. Defining the file types of input source and out put source

These are some of development activities:

1. Installation of MDM

2. Building the repository with respect to functional requirements

These are some of the tasks for integration testing:

1. Unit Testing

2. End to End Testing

3. Regression testing
