Dear Experts..........

This is user req:

Im trying since long time plz express your views.

For example:

We got one order....construction.

now req is ...two orders have to control by one project.

x.1,x,2,x.3,x.4........these are first building wbs

Y.1,Y.2,Y.3,Y.4.....These are second building wbs.

Both x and y wbs are in same project....whenw e release the project both X and Y will relaese automatically.

i stheir any procedure to control only X wbs should relaese.

Y wbs should release after completing X wbs work.

Your scenario is ont quite clear to us.

REL is status is pass on status for the lower level WBS. IF your X & Y are level 1 & LEve 2 WBS than in that case you should REL level 2 WBS.

If both X & Y are same level than you can control the same via user status.

By this I mean to say that you can assign the status profile to repective WBS ELement X or Y and control the Release status. If you req. details step let me know your requirement in detail.

Actually...this scenario is.....In one project....X1,x2,x3..and ..y1,y2,y3, wbs are in same level.

X...Wbs will construct one Substation.

After completing X substation we should start Y Substation.

I have planned to make two projects for...X.Substation..and Y.Substation

But now im thinking to release each WBS.mainatining (x and y )in single project

They want to show in single project...X and Y?

I have doubts......

After completing X work (X1,X2,X3,X4 WBS CAN I CLOSE these wbs only)Y should be active.

Or u plz provide some inputs dear.....with userstatus

AYes you can map the same in Single Project.

A If both are at same level than this is standard funcatioality...You can set Closed X WBS & after that Y can be in REL status. If I say in simple word than if WBS are on same level your can activate any type of status on it. It will not affect the other WBS.

I think your requirment is straight forward & can be achieve without user status.

Userstatus comes in picture when you wanted to control status change rights to perticular uesr groups etc. ...

either user status or do nt release at project definition level, release individual wbs elements.

Using User status u can always control the release of the WBS.

Suggest to release each WBS to have control.

Is Y WBS create below the X WBS element?
