Promotion end date not updated in table wakh

Hi all,

I am using transaction code wak5 to change the promotion validity periods.Once i extended the promotion end date, i m checking in wakh table for validity periods.But new date was not updated in the table.Is it the right way of extending the validity periods? if not please suggest...
