Multi level Packing in SAP 3.1

Hi,

I am using SAP 3.1, i want to create a multi level packing.

8 Pieces = 1 box

10 box = 1 Pallet

1 pallet = 1 lid.

How to combine Box, Pallet and Lid in a delivery.

Dear Kannan,

Packing steps

You can do the manual packing process in the delivery

-->You create master data for Box ,Pallet and Lid with material type VERP,

-->Do the configuration settings regarding packing through this IMG path

IMG>Logistics execution>Shipping-->Packing

-->Define Number Ranges for Handling Units

-->Packing Control By Item Category

-->Define Requirements for Packing in the Delivery

-->Define Packaging Material Types (Box ,Pallet and Lid)

-->Define Material Group for Packaging Materials (Box, Pallet and Lid)

-->Define Allowed Packaging Materials.

1.Assign the Packing material type Box in the Material (material to be packed) master Basic Data 1 view in the Matl Grp Pack.Matls field under Packing material data.

2.Assign the Packing material type Pallet in the Box Material master Basic Data 1 view in the Matl Grp Pack.Matls field under Packing material data.

3.Assign the Packing material type Lid in the Pallet Material master Basic Data 1 view in the Matl Grp Pack.Matls field under Packing material data.

-->Now you create sales then delivery for that material quantity with 80

In the delivery

After enter in to Packing screen you can find Material ,Partial qty and Total quantity columns under Material to be Packed screen.

Here you enter 8 in Partial qty column then click on per part. qty push button now system will ask Should system search for allowed packing material? you select Yes now system will give the packing material Box ,Pallet and Lid.

You select Box then proceed now system will pack the 80 qty in to 10 boxes and each will have 8 Pieces.

Again you can pack these 10 boxes, still you can see these 10 boxes under the Material to be packed screen.

Now you enter 10 in Partial qty column then click on per part. qty push button now system will ask Should system search for allowed packing material? you select Yes now system will give the packing material Box ,Pallet and Lid

You select Pallet then proceed now system will pack the 10 Boxes in to one Pallet, it will have 10Boxes.

Again you can pack these 1 Pallet, still you can see these 1 Pallet is under the Material to be packed screen.

Now you enter 1 in Partial qty column then click on per part. qty push button now system will ask Should system search for allowed packing material? you select Yes now system will give the packing material Box ,Pallet and Lid

You select Lid then proceed now system will pack the 1 pallet in to one Lid, it will have 1pallet.
