Hi
Can anybody make me clear about mass or delta updates and mass imports.
Regards
Yugandher
Hi Yugandher,
Import is mostly refered to an initial import of records in to a repository. So when you say mass import it means you rae importing lrge chunk of data in to MDM repository(mostly for teh first time)
Updates are mostly refered to delta.Delta means a set of changed record or a smaller set of new records.
If its a set of changed records they will come in as Mass updates as they will update the existing records in the repository.
If its a smaller set of new records then they will get created in the repository.
So delta refers to change and import refers to an initial load and when you associate the word mass with them it means you are talking about large quantity of data.
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

Hi Yug,
Mass Imports: This is done first time you are importing data from remote system(Ex: R/3) to MDM repository.
Delta updates: Once MDM repository is in sync with the remote systems, and after that is there any changes in the records(new records created / modified), while we are importing / syndicating we will call it as delta updates.
In delta updates less number of records will be there when compared to mass imports.
hope this may help you,

Hi,
Mass upload is when you take the entire data into the recepient system from the source system.
Whereas delta upload is when you take only the changed and the added data since the last upload.
Hope it helps.
