Dear Gurus,
Please explain about the Reserve Fields in Customer Master (Sales Area Data: Extras-> Additional Data) and Material Masters (sales and distribution view: sales orga. data 2).
What and how they are useful?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ashish
Hi,
The fields you are going to see in customer master are defined in SPRO(IMG).
The path for defining them is:
SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Master Data>Business partners>Customers>Sales>Maintain reserve fields in customer master.
Regarding tables KNA1 is the table for storing customers data.
There are five fields.They are
Customer group1--KVGR1
Customer group2--KVGR2
Customer group3--KVGR3
Customer group4--KVGR4
Customer group5--KVGR5.
These are stored in the fields specified above.all these five fields will be stored in "KNVV" table.
When we recieve the ackowledgement we will be intinmated by change in the field of CUstomer group1 as the value "AA(Acknowledgement received)" like that. For extensions or additional data we are maintaining these fields.
The same fields you can see in Sales order also.Goto VA02.Enter your order number.
Goto>Header>Aditional DataA.
You will observe the same fields here also.
Regards,
Krishna.

Hi,
Simple answer.
If you want to store some information in Customer Master / Material Master and in the SAP stndard fields are not fitting to store the requried data, in such cases, you can use these extra fields to store the data.
Mainly these fields are used to group the customers with some common terms.
Example : 3rd Party Customer "Y/N"
Tommorow u can take report...how many are 3rd paryt customers...how many are direct customers...etc.
