and compare stock value with MB5B by taking same posting period it shows difference why?

hello Anil,
As already mentioned in my post above, the Materials constituting the GL account stock value must be known.
Check out what materials constitute the GL account in MB5B by clicking the GL account and an MB5B lookalike screen pops up.
There you get the material wise details of the MM inventory account.
Also on the main screen, there is a selection available where you may tick the Show Individual Lines and you may/may not enter the GL account. This also gives you the materials constituting the account.
Always, the Material stock account value matches the MB5B value. The FI value may/may not match due to Jv's etc.
You get the details.
Hope this helps.

Arpit

HI Anil,
Here is how it is classified.
MB5B:
The report Stock for posting date lists a company's own stocks in a
particular time period (earliest date 0h00, latest date 24h00).
The posting date is used for selection. Note that the posting date may
be different from the entry date (date entered in the system) as well as
the document date.
Starting with the current stock balance, the report uses the material
documents to calculate the stock balance for the specified posting date.
MB5L:
The report List of stock values: Balance display is used to display the
total quantity and value of the stock of one or more materials at plant
and storage location level.
In addition, the system determines the stock account to which material
is posted in the case of a goods movement.
You can display the balance values for each company code and G/L
account. The balance of the G/L account is compared to the stock value
of the specified material, and any deviation between the two totals is
indicated.

Hello,
MB5L shows the difference between the Stock accounts of MM and FI.
A single click on the GL account in MB5L gives the details of the materials constituting the Material Stock (as per MM).
But the Stock Account column gives the Stock balance as per FI. It also includes the impact of any JV's,etc.
Ideally, the column of Variance should be 0.
Hope this is helpful.

MB5B shows the stock values as per the date range given in the selection screen for a material.
MB5L shows the stock balances per current period, previous period and previous year only.
It will not show any period specific stock values.
