Hi Guys,
Please educate me on how to create a start process in ESS side, I tried copying the iView from Specialist folder(HR Admin and Manager) and pasting it in ESS personal information folder, but it doesn't seem to work. it would be great if some one can help me out in this regards. Thanks very much
Regards,
For the "employee" to initiate a process, it is a bit trickier than merely passing a process and what not. Although not mentioned ANYWHERE in SAP documentation, setting up a process for an employee will depend on using the Homepage Framework and a special proxy class (that is, if you want to do this via config and not any custom coding). A good example of this is the "Life and Work Events" for employee that are based on HCM P&F. Now...of note, I don't think you can do this until EhP2, so check for yourself (I would but do not have time at the moment....on EhP3 here and EhP4 at another client, so I know it works on both of those). I am putting together a blog even now that details all the many ways to start processes and this is better discussed there. In any event, it is "tricky" but not impossible.

Please refer to the document:
HRAS_ESSMSS_iViews_EhP2.pdf
For info on this. It can be found on service.sap.com/erp in the HCM section for HCM Processes and Forms under the "media library". Basically, you have to do a few things....
(1) tell the "start application" that the "initiator role" is an employee
(2) tell the "start application" which process to select/jump into
"Eventing" will pick up the employee's pernr.
That should get you started.

Hey Aakash,
Follow this path inside the IMG:
Personnel Management -> HR Administrative Services -> Configuration of Forms/Processes -> Process Configuration -> Set Up Processes -> Validity of Process Start -> Specify Valid Processes for Start Applications
In here, you select the role that you want to assign your scenario to. If you want to view the current roles available, under Set Up Processes, run the Determine Processor Roles transaction.
Hope this helps...
Cheers,
Kevin
Anyone has a idea... Thanks
