Collaborative demand planning &Order Fulfillment Problem

Hello Experts,

Please share your thoughts.

This is a make stock scenario.

We have 3 key customers(A,B,C) who share their demand forecast through collaborative demand planning in APO-DP.

say A needs 300 units, B needs 400 units, C needs 500 units and the rest of the customers(D) need another 400 units the total demand = 1600 units

Accordingly SNP&PP/DS will generate planned orders and these get transferred to R/3.

R/3 excutes these planned orders.

now coming to the Sales Orders the following is the demand from the customers

All others(D)- 600 units

A -300units

B-300units

C-600units

Regular ATP check, doesn't respect the demand what we agreed with the customers, it will only check the availability date based on the receipt elements.

This is affecting the KPIs, and service levels for the key customers.

what business needs is for the customers (A,B,C) we need to make sure we are fulfilling the demand if the customer demand <=(the demand provided by DP- Collaborative Planning)

now this is sort of cannibalization of the receipts whoever comes first they will be served best.

Is there any way we can restrict this and assign distribution of receipt elements based on the forecast.

Hi Sai,

Consensus based forecast is transferred to R/3 product allocation. please follow the link below.

ATP check considers this allocation before confirming any order.

You can use the GATP functionality known as Product Allocation for this scenario. This will basically mean that you need to maintain product allocations against each customer in your GATP planning book and every time you create a sales order in R/3, the quantity will be checked against the allocated quantity in APO GATP. If the quantity exceeds the allocated quantity for that given month, then sales order cannot be confirmed.

You will need to explore this funcionality in APO GATP and this should help your requirement.

Hi kiran,

We need to do ATP check against product allocations. If you are using GATP,it is standard functionality that GATP checks these quantities of DP planning book and restict the quantities against allocated during ATP check.

If you are doing ATP check in R/3,copy the forecast values to the planning table in R/3 and system will consider these allocated quantities during ATP check in R/3.

we don't want to go for GATP unless it is required.

What are the settings that needs to be done from R/3 ATP check point of view to address this problem. Please explain the details where exactly we need specify refering to the forecast entered.
