Initial Password for Admin user when unarchiving 71110_VENDOR Bus Content

Hi,

I am using MDM 7.1, and I created a new "VENDOR" repository by unarchaving the business content 7110_VENDOR.

After the new repository was created successfully, I tried to connect using username=Admin and password=<blank>, but it did not work. I got the following error

"Error Connecting to Repository"

"Repository connect failed"

"Error: Invalid logon credentials"

Do you know if the initial password for "Admin" user has changed?

Thanks,

Julio

Hello,

Try Userid = Admin and password = sapmdm.

Let me know if it worked.

Hi Shai,

Thanks a lot! It did work! Is this in the documentation? just future reference.

Thanks,

Hello Julio,

Infact the documentation needs to be updated. In the Console Manual, on page 279, it still says that the initial password is blank.

Hi Shai,

That's what I thought as I looked there and everywhere, and I couldn't find the answer to my question.

Thanks,

Julio

Hi everyone,

the initial password of a new repository that is being created in MDM Console is still blank. The general description in the MDM Console Reference Guide is correct, there's no correction necessary.

If you unarchive any of the SAP released repositories, all user passwords are set to sapmdm. This has been done in our predelivered repositories for security reasons. Of course this is part of the documentation. Therefore please check the specific SAP notes related to SAP standard content:

[MDM Business Partner Content (SAP Note 1035773|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1035773]

[MDM Customer Content (SAP Note 1252884)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1252884]

[MDM Employee Content (SAP Note 1268212)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1268212]

[MDM Material Content (SAP Note 1255401)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1255401]

[MDM Product Content (SAP Note 1252846)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1252846]

[MDM Vendor Content (SAP Note 1252883)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/125283]

Thanks

Michael

By the way: the upcoming release of MDM 7.1 SP 2 will include a new template for the Vendor repository (and Material) that features the new MDM functionality of tuples as well as multi main tables.
