you probably installed Oracle 10.2.0.1, and trying to pathc to 10.2.0.2 with opatch?

this is not the way it works.

on windows, here are the steps:

install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (sapserver.cmd)

install 10.2.0.2 patch (setup.exe)

install 10.2.0.2 minpatch (opatch)

\orcale\10G\NT\I386\database\setup.exe

This is not the path of installing Oracle for SAP.

it should be \orcale\10G\NT\I386\SAP\RUNINSTALLER

Hi Anuj,

Are you installing Oracle with Oracle Software CD's or using SAP Provided Oracle DVD's.

To install Oracle for SAP you need to use only SAP provided Oracle DVDs.

In that DVD....you need to execute sapsever.cmd to install Oracle Software.

In the Patch DVD,you need to execute setup.exe to install patch

Hi Anuj,

I think in the folder options > View Tab> UNCheck hide extensions for known types. So that you can see file extensions also.

You need to click \ORACLE\NT\I386\sapserver.cmd to install oracle.

You need to click \ORACLE\NT\I386\sapserver.cmd to install oracle.

Hi,

It picks and you no need to pick.

After you click sapserver.cmd it opens OUI where you give the Oracle Home and all....

Hi,

You must install Oracle using the SAP provided script called sapserver.cmd

This script will launch setup.exe with proper parameters and install what is needed for Oracle.

Thanks ,

for reply... it will provide the path of oui.exe

@%rootdir%\database\install\oui.exe -responseFile %rootdir%\sap\SAPServer.rsp ORACLE_HOME_NAME=%ohname% ORACLE_HOME=%ohdest%

thanks

> for reply... it will provide the path of oui.exe

> @%rootdir%\database\install\oui.exe -responseFile %rootdir%\sap\SAPServer.rsp ORACLE_HOME_NAME=%ohname% ORACLE_HOME=%ohdest%

The main reason is the "response file" - in contains preconfigured parameters and activated features for the database.

Hi Anuj,
