Document type description field

Hi Gurus,

While defining the New Document Type in customisation,In Doc. type desc field it allows me to enter only 20characters.

Is there any settings to be done to allow more than 20characters.

If yes pls let me know..

There is no facility to provide long test for the description ti Document Type in Customizing.

by logic its just a short Description of Doc Type.So why a long test is required?

So if you mean short description then there is no point in giving Long description.

Yes but when you are creating a DIR ( Document) you can give long description to the document number

as this is must required to as per Business Process Requirement.

If anwer is Usefull Please grant me the points.

you can make use of Long Text.. on Description tab end u can see the icon for long text

That should be possible by increasing the width of the fiels in sap tables.

Hi aby,

while creating the document we can see the long text but while creating the new document type in customisation i dont find any long text..
