If I can integrate SAP-APO with SAP-ECC6.0 Using CIF, then why/when do I integrate using SAP-PI?

Hi Prema,
the main reasons for which I would use PI instead of the CIF are:
Monitoring: PI provides better monitoring functionalities than the CIF, and it's the central message exchange platform to be monitored, the CIF instead is an additional component that needs to be monitored.
Razionalization: think about master data, without XI you send master data to APO via CIF, to CRM via middleware to other systems with other technologies. With PI you send master data once to PI, then PI does the business and technical conversion delivering messages to all recipients.

Core interface integration model is a ..abstract sort of a distribution model..not a 2 way interface with traceability..Thats why you use PI.
