What is the lock button used for in SOLAR01 and SOLAR02

Can someone tell me what this button is used for? It is in all the tabs. Is this a part of Enterprise Edition? When I click on it nothing happens. Is this a permission issue?

It's kind of what you would imagine. It locks the content on that tab from changes, unless you have certain authorizations. Very handy.

We have this in our sandbox but not our production box so does it come with Enterprise Edition?

yep. Pretty sure that's when it became available.

Does it lock the entire tab or just selected items?

For instance on the project documentation tab, when you click the lock icon it should change (the lock looks open) and the green +, the red -, the trash can should become grayed out.

Also, on the Admin tab you shouldn't be able to change the status, keywords or team member assignment when it is locked. Do an SU53 after clicking on it if it isn't working.
