Hi,
we have to setup some online interfaces between Oracle Application servers and Sap XI 30.
We are evaluating these possibilities:
1) Java proxy
2) Web Services
3) JDBC adapter
Someone can help us to better undertsnad the main advantages-disadvantages of these methods ?
Sap Help online apart where we can find good technical documentation on these features ?
best regards
Java Proxy-
Pro's
Performance wise good as convesrion of XI spec
ific formats and reciever specific format does not happens.
Con's
Custom coding required
Webservice
Pro's
It is an easily scalable application and will give business benefits in future.
Con's
Development and design of webservice has to be done carefully to yield business benefits in future.
It takes some initial effort for achieving the same.
JDBC Adapters:

Hi,
What is your evaluation criteria?
That's because these 3 fit into different situations and if you can specify what is your business requirement , may be SDNers would be able to help you best in that case.
Roughly,
1. Java Proxy : Use java proxies on reciever side when standard adapters do not suffice. An example could be a reciever java proxy communicating with third party application over TCP/IP layer.Or may be a java proxy which is an EJB client of a different application.
2. Web services : Whenever you need to access functionality exposed as web services from XI.
3. JDBC adapter : Direct interaction with a database from XI is required. e.g. XI updating new records in a back office database to be in sync with some actual system.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Amol
