Hi There.
I do not have strong background of OS but my requirement is to trigger an event from AS400 to SAP R/3 through transaction SAPEVT.
1) Can somebody help me in with the step by step approach for undertaing this activity.
2) Do I need to copy SAPEVT.EXE in AS400
I will appreciate any help in this regards,
Manu
Hi,
You can find sapevt.exe in your kernel path(Drive:-usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run)
Please have a look at below mentioned SAP Notes.
Note 374379 - Triggering SAPEVT from a remote host
Note 642464 - Profile file for the sapevt program
745468 Problems with sapevt program in Releases 6.20 and 6.40
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sushil

Hello,
I've been searching for assistance to use sapevt and found your message.
Are you able to assist me in the following scenario:
I would like to use sapevt on a windows XP machine in order to let SAP R/3 know that I'm finished copying a file to a certain folder. The EventA in SAP will be responsible to launch a SAP Job to modify these files.
I've successfully launched sapevt EVENTA name=SYS1 nr=00 mshost=host1 on a linux machine with SAP R/3 kernel 6.40. However, I would like to be able to launch sapevt from a Windows computer.
Is there any possibility to get this working?
Kind regards,
Dieter De Meyer
