connection between ECC 6.0 and SCM 5.1

Dear all,

I need to setup connection between ECC 6.0 IDES system and SCM 5.1 IDES system.

I have never done it before , i would like to know what are the tasks comes under Basis

area , what i understood from many forums below mentioned things comes udner Basis people

tasks list after installation

ECC SID : ECC

SCM SID : SCM

create logical system ECCCNLT800 in ECC

craete logical system SCMCLNT800 in SCM

assign logical system ECCCNLT800 to client 800 in ECC

assign logical system SCMCNLT800 to client 800 in SCM

create RFC destination as SCMCNLT800 in ECC sm59

create RFC destination as ECCCNLT800 in SCM sm59

Maintain business group ( i am not aware what need to be done in this area )

Anything apart from this need to be done in order to establish connection between SCM and ECC

system specifically by Basis team members , please let me know.

please let me know steps in detail if i missed any or mentioned wrongly at.

Hi Ganesh,

I have a question regarding the installation of IDES ECC n IDES SCM.

Did you use the external HDD of a Laptop/Desktop to install the softwares or you did it in the internal HDrive.

Did you install both ECC n SCM on the same Hard Drive or different.

Did you intall the IDES files using full installation or some other method.

Hi Ganesh ,

Need to do following setting iN ECC

- Name the logical system

- Assign logical system to client

- Set up RFC connection

- Assign RFC Connection to different application cases

- Set Target system and Queue Type

- Activate ALE pointer for data transfer

- Activate ALE pointer for message type

APO

Apart from above setting you need to do

- Maintained Business System Group and Distribution Function.
