Hi,

ESR is the actual repository of services. In ESR you can define new services also. The purpose of Service registry is to just browse the services which are present in ESR with different search criterias.

At runtime service registry will be bypassed.

ESR is not present in Composition Environment by default. But service registry comes with CE.

If you need ESR you need to download and configure it saperately.

Hi

1.Both are same only difference is based on uses that when we say ESR it specific to producer and consumer relationship some sort of authentication like digital signature, client number is required to access the service available in external portal (internet)

url example

http://<washost>.<domain>.com:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/webservicebrowser/search.html?sap-client=<client no>

2.We can also configure Service registry for local uses.

3.[ESR|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0f90f22-678c-2a10-91a0-f1f1bf7ff191]
