Material Determination: VOFM requirement triggers only after entering matnr

Hello gurus.

In a sales order we want to replace old material with a new one.....and we use Material Determination and a substitution rule. So far so good !

In the Mat.Det procedure we have a VOFM requirement for checking table MBEW (inventory management).

The problem is that the Mat.Det only runs after the material is entered....and then the plant field is empty.

Please advice.

Hi Erik Hoven,

What do you want the systems work?. If you create a material substitution, the material will be substituted when you enter the material to be substitute. To the field plant see if you have maintain the delivery plant in the customer or in the material.

I was hoping that the Material determination also could take place when the plant was entered or when the order was saved....

Hi Erik Hoven,

Material determination will not happen when only plant details are entered.

Plant determination will take place in the following sequence.

1st checks from Customer material info record.

then from customer master record

then from material master record

at order level can also change manually the plant details.
