Hi,
Can we filter / restrict few records to be visible to the end user using the standard MDM iviews.
Thanks,
Padmaja
Hi Padmaja,
Yes it is possible but the only thing is Users should be restricted on MDM side. Create a Mask or Named Search and assign the one to the user.
Masks are the static once. You need to manually add the records to the mask and assign that mask to the role in mdm console. On the other hand Named Searches are dynamic. You need to search the records on some criteria and then save the search as Named Search, give some name and assign the named search to the role in MDM console.
Now whenever user with having that Role login into the Portal, then only the restricted records would be visible.
Note: In order to use the Mask and Named Search functionality, records are to be created in the respective tables.

Hi Padmaja,
To filter records in an MDM standard iview you can use the search type as look up search, named search or mask search with difference search iviews like picklist search iview , hierarchy search iview etc.
Refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm550/helpdata/en/45/c87d0243e56f75e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
Hope it helps.

Hi Padmaja,
Yes, you can restrict the views to users.
You can use the concept of Named Search or Masks for User Constraints.

For Named Search:
Roles may include constraints based on Named Searches: https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001124542007E
Masks:

Hi Padmaja,
Yes you can do it by using the features for MDM security in Roles and Users table.
You can filter you records using Named seraches and assign them to a user sith constraints on the named search so that only those records are visible to that user.
You can also perform the same task using the Mask feature where a user can only view teh records in the Mask. The differnce between using Named searches and Maks is that Masks are more static and Named searches more dynamic.
