where is the setting by whch number of hours for unit DAY can be 8hours/12 hours or 24 hours, as per the desired settings.

In standard SAP 1 day = 24 hrs.
It depends upon the workcenter, you use how many are working hrs in a day.
In CR02, goto capacity tab of workcenter and double click on capacity, you can chnage working hrs here.
