Please let me know when Service order or Maintenance order will create based on on service notifcation on SM Module.

what is difference between service and Maintenace order ?

Service Order Processing is used to handle short-term agreements between a customer and a service provider, in which the customer orders one-off services. Such an order could be, for example, to maintain or repair some equipment, making it necessary to send a technician along with spare parts. These services are usually billed. The service order is also used to schedule resources and plan availability of spare parts, and can include extra expenses required to execute service jobs (for example, travel expenses).

Maintenance Processing handles the complete operative process for preventive and inspection maintenance of technical objects from request through order to confirmation. The Maintenance Processing process component is the integral part of Plant Maintenance enabling and controlling all aspects of the operative process for the maintenance of materials. It recognizes the different roles in an organization, for example, maintenance planner, maintenance supervisor and technician. Maintenance Processing enables personnel to:

 Record the condition of the material element or to report a malfunction and request repair through a Maintenance Request

 Execute maintenance tasks including detailed planning, progress monitoring and settlement through a Maintenance Order

 Save important maintenance data in the Maintenance History for future evaluation.

Service order is like Which you r going to Provide Service for your customer.

Maintence Order is :For Example:In your plant lets say you had one Huge machinary...for that you want to Check the oil gage and power connections..here you can raise the Maintence order.
