Hi Milind

The focus of both CS module and PS module are entirely different

Project System (PS) module is used for structuring, planning, budgeting, progress tracking during execution, reporting etc usually associated with any project implementation. It is basically a Project Management tool for evaluating a project with respect to costs, schedules etc. Its basic advantage is, it is fully integrated with other modules like SD, FI/CO, MM, PP, HR etc in SAP due to which data handling becomes easy. You have got many standard reports in PS to take advantage of.

Whereas, the focus of the CS module is with respect to the Customer support after delivery (technical objects). Structuring and managing the technical objects with respect to services to be performed, handling warranties, creation of service requests, handling business partners, tracking the call processes, palnning and execution of the services etc. CS is alos tightly integrated with the other modules like SD, FI/CO, MM, PP, PS etc.

PS is looking within the company and CS is interfacing with the business partners.

Thanks

dear milind..

CS - Used when a company is providing services for its customers and mostly maintenance work is done at customer site ... it can still be managed in PS as service projects ..

PS - This can be used for any kind of projects like customer project , investment projects, maintenance projects, service projects ...

PS is most advantegous ..
