We are trying to implement some verbiage for the email reminders but keep receiving the message that we have went over the character limitation of 800 characters, even though we have not. Does anyone have any experience with the emails or tips/tricks that can get you around these problem?
.
Here's the text I'm trying to put in:
Userid:#_!USERID#_!
UserName:#_!USERNAME#_!
RequestType:#_!REQUESTTYPE#_!
This is an automated e-mail. Your access request is complete.

Hi Teveas,
Your email reminder mail content is over 800 characters indeed. In CUP/AE , every Space is counted towards character length , every line change would be accounted for space.
You will have to format your content, for example get the User Name , User Id , Request type can be put in same line . You are the best judge of what you want and how but i have told you the basic concept of how character lenght count works in CUP.
I hope this helps.

Teveas, anything that you enter will be formatted in HTML. This is why you will receive a message saying that you have exceeded the maximum number of characters.
For example,
Enter will add
Bold will add {/b}
Italic will add {/i}
etc...
I would suggest that you remove some formatting or remove some redundant text/characters.
My own testing reveals the following amount of 'characters' are used when you insert one of these into your text. Started off testing just to see how many characters it would take to fill it up (799). From that, would add one of these format options and keep removing characters until it would let me save the text.
New Line 9 per each new line
Bold 17 per character string
Color 27 per character string
Underline 7 per character string
Also discovered another issue. If you attempt to save a text change but run over the limit, you have to exit that function and come back in to try again. It does not recount the text characters if you stay on there and remove characters and try again. So, don't make a lot of changes before you attempt to save because you will lose them if you have gone over the limit. Hit Save after every few changes.
Thanks.
Hi Teveas,
This is a strange problem in CUP. I have seen this issue at couple of my clients. Make sure to remove line breaks and unneccessary characters. Once you are ready, paste your content in notepad which would remove some of the special characters. Now, copy the content from notepad and paste it in CUP.
This should help.
