Dear All,

As we know Incotems (Part 2) field is a free text in sales order . It gets the description from Incotem1 for the first time . But if we change the value of incoterm1 , it will not change/ oeverwrite the vlaue of Incoterm2 . Is there any way we can achieve it.

Regards

Tom

Dear Tom,

It's not possible to link that field with the INCOTERM 1 as it's a text field which needs to be entered value into (unlike a combo or dropdown list where already some values get populated frm masters).

Thus if the customising settings make it mandatory 2 b entered with a value then u can enter the location otherwise it can b left blank. Howevere once added, d changes in INCOTERM1 can in no manner change the value of this text field on its own.

It's a logic of software, had there been some defined set of values for this field (as v have for ny dropdown say even INCOTERM1) then something could have been done 2 link INCOTERM2 n 1 bt not in this case of INCOTERM2 being a normal text field.

If u still have some doubts then feel free 2 write back otherwise please close the thread if answered.

Hi

When you define the Incoterms in SPRO ( Master Data> Business Partner> Billing Doc --> Define Incoterm) we have check box "Location Mandatory" which basically ensures that the text field ( Incoterm 2) is populated. The description which is maintained here in the SPRO is not the part 2 of the incoterm. You can maintain in the customer master data as to what needs to come up in the Incoterm 2. Now this text is not dependent on Incoterm 1. It can either be defaulted from Master Data or can be populated manually. So when you change the incoterm1...i do not know why the term 2 should change.

Thanks

A
