RE: BW statistics on SCM 5 - delete ?

Hi

We are running SCM 5 on WIndows server 2003/MS SQL 2005 64 bit, I've been monitoring the DB growth, which is quite large at around 25 - 30 GB per month, the DB is currently around 300 GB.

Looking at the largest tables/growth, table RSDDSTATEVDATA is the largest table, using nearly 80GB on 300,000,000 rows. I've had a search on OSS for this table and it took me to OSS note Note 706478 - Preventing Basis tables from increasing considerably, which says these are BW statistical data which can be deleted using RSDDSTAT_DATA_DELETE or using transaction RSDDSTAT, is it better to delete all or only upto a certain date, how long do you normally retain ?

From what I have read, these tables are mainly for investigating performce statistics, if I was to delete the contents using the above methods, would it cause performance problems for SCM ?

Looking at transation RSDDSTAT, the statistics are set to 'D' (Default) for everything on Query, Info Provider and Web Template.

The SCM team are not sure what impact these statistics have on SCM performance.

Thanks for any help.

RSDDSTAT_DATA_DELETE deleted 140Gb of data, so worked well !
