My Production system will be experience an increase in the number of users from 1800 (approx) by a factor of 1.5. We run ECC5 on a Solaris platform.
Any ideas how I can easily determine how much extra swap space for the app servers and the database server
Hello David,
The swap space requirements would in this case still remain as in SAP note #153641 (Swap space requirement for R/3 64-bit kernel) as follows:
"We recommend you to configure at least 20 gigabytes of swap space in 64-bit systems. (Plus approx. 10 GB for every additional 64-bit instance on the same computer).
Reason: ......... "
With this generous amount you will have plenty of swap space even with the additional users.
For checking other resources such as RAM and CPU for the extra workload then you should refer to information at http://service.sap.com/sizing and discuss with your hardware vendor.
I hope this information helps.
Regards, Mark
