Hi,
Is it safe to change the MS Cluster Group name for ECC 5 cluster after installed?
If not is there a safe way to do it?
Thanks in advance,
Roey
On the cluster administrator there are 3 groups:
cluster group
SAP-R/3 PRD
SQLSERVER
One of the properties of the SAP-R/3 PRD group is name.
I need to change this property.
Thanx,
Roey

Hi Roey,
There must be no problem in renaming th cluster group
Please refer to follwoing link:
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/32064632/rename-exchange-cluster-g.aspx
The procedure of doing is mentioned here
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc757533.aspx
Make sure you keep following points in mind:
1. Make sure you have a full backup of SAP
2. Bring cluster groups offline and then rename them and then bring up the cluster group
I hope there will be no issue
Rohit
Hello Roey,
what do you mean by changing the name of the cluster.
when you install a cluster, you have two nodes say n1 and n2
n1 has a host name and n2 has its own host name
so do you want to change these host names?
If yes,it is a very tedious process and I would recommend not to go for that
If not,can you please explain the problem along with the full environment of your setup
Rohit
