RFC connections to SAPNet - R/3 Frontend fail in setup wizard

Hi

I'm trying to setup my IDES to connect to SAP so I can use maintenance optimizer etc. Is that possible using a dynamic IP? (I don't boot much so I could change the settings if the IP changes, but it is an 192.168.1.* address that I get from my ISP using DHCP).

Also. is it neccesary to setup an saprouter? There's no firewall active as security isn't much of an issue for this system. I found a setup guide that's split in two, with or without saprouter, but there's not a lot information on how to do this without that saprouter,

Yes Sap Router is requried to communication with SAP either you download any notes directly from your system or you open a connection for SAP, for Maintainance optimizer also the Solution manager needs to communicate with SAP and all these can be done with the help of Router only.
