U can create Unit Costing template in KKE1 and Copy while doing Unit Costing for Cost activity or Material.

Define Costing Varinat in OKKT (Costing Type:08) to do Unit Costing in KKE1.

It helps to plan different cost orgin using Item Categoty

Item Category

Flags the items in a cost estimate according to their cost origins.

Examples of item categories

M (Material) B (Base planning object)

N (Service) L (Subcontracting)

E (Internal activity) F (External activity)

V (Variable item) S (Total)

I (Delivery costs) A (Co-product)

T (Text) P (Process costs manually)

G (Overhead - calculated automatically)

X (Process costs - calculated automatically)

Hi

The purpose of unit costing is - in general costs activities, you can carry out detailed cost planning at an early stage in the planning process, when the matching level of network detail is not yet available. You use it to plan materials, activities, and other costs. The costs from the unit costing are distributed over the duration of the activity.

This is to make planning close to the realistic one....

You need to maintain the costing variant separetly for unit costing in OKYG for genral cost activity and OKYF for material component.

You plan according to item catagories maintianed like base planning object in KKE1 (simple planning aid), internal activity (thro' cost center and activity type in KP26), material etc.....
