ESS/MSS upgrade compatible versions

Hi ,

We are planning to upgrade ESS/MSS.Please find the details

Please find the backend versions

Portal

NW 7.0 SP18

What should be compatible portal versions for the following components

EP_BUILDT

SAP-JEE

SAP_BUILDT

SAP_JTECHS

SAP_ESS

SAP_MSS

SAPPCUI_GP

I referred the wiki

Hi Bala,

I did went through the pain that you are having right now. Its very tough to get correct versions on backend R/3 components for corresponding XSS components.

To answer your question "What should be compatible portal versions for the following components"

These are J2EE components, since your portal is at SP18 you it need to be at SP18

EP_BUILDT: SP18

SAP-JEE : SP18

SAP_BUILDT: SP18

SAP_JTECHS: SP18

These are XSS components and are the LATEST VERSIONS:

SAP_ESS: SP14

SAP_MSS: SP14

SAPPCUI_GP: SP14

Also you need to deploy following Business Packages for XSS:

BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 SP14

BP ERP05 ESS 1.0 SP14

BP ERP05 COMMON PARTS 1.0 SP14

Thanks Bhavin for the reply.

But what should be the version of ESS/MSS is it 600 or 603.because as per wiki it says ESS should be 603 and MSS should be 600 and PCUI_GP version should be equal to ESS/MSS.But here ESS/MSS have different vesions so PCUI_GP should be 600 or 603?

This SAP notes states that we should go for ESS 600 SP15 and MSS 600 SP15 if we are on NW 7.0 SP18

SAP ERP 6.0 SP Stack 15 (02/2009) Release Information Note, note 1291222.

But there is a contradiction with Marcio's Wiki which says we should go for ESS 603.Please correct me if i am wrong

What I belive is ESS 600 SP 14 will work on EP 7.00 SP 16 (+2) with backend R/3 System at SP 14 (and above) which included EhP 3 according to Marcio Leoni.

Also going through SAP Note # 1291222 which is for ECC 6.0 SP15. According to this note ESS/MSS should be 600 which is correct. Keep in mind that this note is officially released 10 days back which is on 13.02.2009. So this will definately override what Marcio wiki says.

So what I would go with is ESS/MSS 600 SP15. XSS 603 are new versions of XSS but definatelt 600 will work on your existing SP level for R/3 and EP.
