Hi,

Yes. That is called sub-network. The subnetwork is linked to the activity of the main network and is normally used to further elaborate the activity. Sub-network inherits the dates and other scheduling related data from the activity to which it is assigned.

Hi,

Go to SPRO-> Project System-> Structures -> Operative Structures -> Network

-> Define parameters for Subnetworks

In this step, you maintain the following parameters for subnetworks:

1. Nework type for the subnetwork

2. Network type of the activity which is replaced by the subnetwork

In addition, you must enter:

1.Control key for the activity which is replaced by the subnetwork

2.Dates that are copied from the activity which is replaced by the subnetwork

Hi,

There is an exchange of data between the network and the subnetwork: the WBS assignment, sales order assignment and, if applicable, configuration data are taken from the header of the network. The basic dates of the activity are copied to the basic dates of the header of the subnetwork, and it is possible to copy the settlement rule, the profit center and the business area.

The control key of the higher-level activity is changed on the basis of the network type of the higher-level network and of the subnetwork. This determines which tasks are carried out by the higher-level activity (relevance for costing, relevance for scheduling, etc.)

You can also copy the relationships of the higher-level activity to the subnetwork.

You can also create maintenance orders (PM orders) as subnetworks of a network. As of Release 4.6, you can schedule these PM orders from the Project System.

You can define subnetworks for subnetworks (until you have achieved the level of detail you require). In other words, you can create a subnetwork for a subnetwork for a subnetwork, and so on.
