Company Name 2 ?

Dear All,

Please let me know the relavance of Company Name 2. If you go to SPRO/Enterperise Defenition/ Define Company - you will have a column Company name 2. What is the significance of this?

Say your Company name is very long. Company name 1 feild can store upto some 40 characters. Thus if your company name is longer than 40 characters, you can use Copmpany name 2 feild.

I have a company name - Uttar Rajansthan Dudh Sahakari Sthansa Ltd. In this case entire company name would not fit in Company name 1, so I have to use Company name 2 feild.

Dear Prasanth

Either you can make use of that field for statistical purpose or in case the customer name is very long and the space in Name1 is not sufficient, at that time, you can cut short in field Name1 and maintain the balance in Name2. In output, you can combine these two fields for print outs. But this would only be a rare occasion.

In both the cases, whether

Company Code or Customer Master, Field: Name 2/ Search 2 is for maintaining extra Information, like,

IMG --> Enterprise Structure --> Definition --> Financial Accounting --> Define Company Code

Column: Comapny - Maintain Code

Column: Comapny Name - Name of the company, say Tata Consultancy Company

Column: Name of Company 2 - Extra Information, say, Public Limited or Information Technology Co. Ltd
