Impossible to restart sap instance

Hello,

Shudown has been done for a server without control.

Now we had a problem to restart the SAP instance.

Everything is like before hardboot. What we have to do (listener, sap db not launched...)

can you paste the dev_disp and dev_w0 logs as well as check the env settings for your system.

As well as what is the config of ur system which OS and DB type.

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

Are you have tnslistener service Up and running on services? Check it,

for example execute under "sid"adm user "lsnrctl status".

Why you fink it's not running? From your lsnrctl status , --> listener are fine

on PORT=1527. Your probelm is only error ORA-12154.

You need to check Note more clearly and first of all check the sqlnet.ora ant tnsnames.ora files.

check in your $ORACLE_HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN folder

P.S. you oracle_home are set correctly?

P.P.S are you able to startup database manually using sqlplus?

Yes Listener is started automatically in services of windows.

But in SAP mmc console, we cannot see the database icon.

Hi,

What triggered this error? Did you try to upgrade the kernel or any other component of SAP? If yes, is there any possibility of reverting back to old kernel.

What database server you are using ? MS SQL or Oracle ?

Make sure that your database service has been running well.

Check your Windows environment and make sure that you have dbms_type parameter defined.

If you are using MS SQL database, you can set dbms_type=mss. If you are using Oracle then set dbms_type=ora

Hi,

The error says :

B *** ERROR => Invalid profile parameter dbms/type (or environment variable dbms_type) = <undef>, cannot load DB library

Please add the environment variable based on DB and trying starting the DB before you start the instance.
