where can i find best practices/guidelines/configurations for j2ee sizing ?

Major Configuration Steps

Max Heap Size (Tool)- in SAP J2EE Engine – Config Tool

Maximum Database Connections (Tool) in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator

MaxRequestContentLength (Tool) - in J2EE Engine Visual Administrator

Database Properties (Tool) in SAP Management Console

These parameters are part of the JVM settings. You can check note 710146 on how to change J2EE Engine (JVM) settings at;
