How to save the reordering of columns in datamanager?

Hi,

when I reorder the columns in the datamanager in Record Mode, the columns are kept in that order, even when restarting the datamanager. Even the list of displayed fileds in the Menu -> View -> Fields is kept.

However, when you switch to Matching mode and then back to Record mode, the Columns are back ordered in the default way. So we need to reorder all fields again.

Is there no way to save the order of the columns in all modes?

We have MDM 5.5.63.57.

Regards

Ivan.

Hi Ivan,

the reordering in data manager cann't be saved permanently,it's only screen specific.

to permanently reorder the columns pls go to console and do that.you have to unload the repository and then right click in the field area after selecting the main table.Right click and reorder.

Hi,

But in 7.1 version, after reordering the fields in Record mode in Data Manager, the order of the fields is getting saved even after shifting to Matching mode and returning back to Record mode. The order is getting saved on reopening the Data Manager too.But if you want to reorder the fields in the same fashion in all the modes,Reorder option in the console must be used.

As rightly mentioned by you, the re-ordering of fields in Data Manager is not permanent. Infact as soon as you switch to another Mode or cancel the Data Manager session and login again, the order of the fields will change back again to the original. This is the way its work in data manager.

The only way to change the order is to do it through console. The changes will be then permanent. Please do that to solve your problem.

Hope it helps.
