liveCache MSCS installation on x64?

Former Member

Hi,

we are in the process of installing liveCache on a MSCS cluster (Windows x64).

However, we can only find information and installation files for IA64.

Is there a x64 version available or do we have to use the IA64 anyway?

Thanks

Antonio

Are you talking about SCM 5.0? Or SCM 2007?

http://service.sap.com/installations

--> SAP Application Components

--> SAP SCM

--> SAP SCM 5.0

--> Installation & Upgrade

--> Windows

If SCM 5.0 then the normal path with only show the MaxDB, not the livecache DVDs.

For SCM 5.0 they are part of the Netweaver 2004s/7.0 delivery. The CD you need is

51033491_13 NW 7.0 SR3 liveCache 7.6.03 Windows Server on x64 64bit

IA64 is a totall different architecture - you need an Itanium-2 CPU for this. That software will not run on x64.

Hi,

thanks for the answer...

but we are migrating our SCM 4.1 to Windows and therefore installing livecache 7.5

there is support for x64 but every note about MSCS talks only about IA64 and none about x64...

do you know if it is supported on MSCS?

thanks

Check

Note 894618 - SCM 4.1: Availability/prerequisites of new platforms

Both necessary CDs for x64 (Livecache itself and installation) are listed there.

Hello Antonio,

For SCM 4.1, the SAP liveCache is generally released for Windows Server on x64 64bit, see the SAP note 894618, as you know.

Please pay attention to SAP note 919224 for Windows X64 system requirements.

And you could integrate the liveCache in MSCS as described in SAP Note 576063. If you have problems to apply this note please update the created OSS ticket, we will support you.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
