Hi,
I am trying to find out using OSS notes if there are issues around brtools 620 being used with Oracle 8 but i can seem to find any. Has anyone done this and can assure its workable? If that is the case then what patch level do i need to be with Oracle 8, SAP Kernel (if applicable) and patch level for brtools 620?
We have an issue with multiple systems running on a single server and one is using Oracle 10, one is Oracle 9 and the other is Oracle 8. the backup tool we use is networker and it is compatible with all database versions but i need to make sure that brtools 620 will work with Oracle 8. Currently, it uses brtools 610 with Oracle 8.
Your help would be very much appreciated.
Regards,
Mani
Hi Mani,
Oracle 8 - not supported anymore
Oracle 9 - extended maintenance ended last year
BRTOOLS 610/620 - no supported anymore (640 can be used instead)
you really should go for upgrading the old software to supported versions instead of looking for workarounds. This is especially true for such important functionality as backup/restore.
regards,
Lars
