I deleted ip address and host name in the host file.
In simple i dont want to define anything in my local PC.
How the web dynpro application wil connect to the server.I know two methods to connect to the server.
1.Giving ip address and hostname in the host.
2.Giving system details in the DNS.
Other than these procedures,if any thing is there ,Please guide me.
Regards
Sushma
I changed the Version of IE from 6.0 to 8.0.Its working fine.

Hi Sushma,
1)
If you want use Remote Server (J2EE Engine) you need to define in
a) host file b) Preferences-> SAP J2EE Engine Remotely.
To run the application you should do above things no other options
2) Another alternative concept is using NWDI u cab deploy the application with out above settings.
3) If you have local J2EE engine just configure the Preferences-> SAP J2EE Engine Locally.
Above three are the options for Deploying the Webdynpro applications i guess there is no other options.

Hi Sushma,
Hope you are deploying directly you are not using NWDI.
NWDS->Window->Preferences->SAP J2EE Engine->
Message Server Host ->
Mesage Server Port
Give correctly accroding to your server.
While deploying give proper sdm password.
If you dont above details ask Basis team for the datails.
If your are using IP Addeess give the entries in Host file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Server IP Addresss Server Name
