Holiday/Factory calendars are created in R/3 which define your workdays and are CIF'ed to APO. In APO, you cannot directly use these factory/holiday calendars CIF'ed from R/3 since APO is based on time series objects. Hence, you have to generate planning time streams which are based on these factory/holiday calendars such that planning buckets, corresponding to workdays of your factory calendar, are generated. This will allow you to use the factory calendar in APO. This is just a technical difference due to the time series objects used in APO.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Srinidhi

Hi Tina,

A factory calendar contains the details of working and non-working days and times of a factory location.

Time streams or calendars serve as a basis for planning. The APO time stream can be set up in weekly or monthly buckets.

If you select weeks, assign numbers 1 through 7 (e.g., 1 for Monday, 2 for Tuesday, etc.) to time periods and assign corresponding hours.

If you select months, assign numbers 1-5 in the first column for the weeks in a month, and number 1-7 in the second column for the days of the week. And then, assign the corresponding hours.

These time streams are created from the factory calendar. And, it can be used as a transportation, or shipping calendar.

A factory calendar distinguishes between working days and non-working days.

Holiday calendar distinguishes working days and public holidays.

Time stream: A period of time divided into period types such as weeks or months used as a planning calendar.

You create factory calendar to which you can assign holiday calendar which in turn show what are the working days in that calendar for validity period.

In time stream you can select this factory calendar in calendar field to select working days and then define your planning period as weekly, daily, monthly and available time as shift time for planning on for that period .

You can transfer your factory calendar from R/3 and the define time stream.
