Local contracts and material group change in backend material

Hello experts,

We have the following scenario (using SRM 5.0 connected to an ECC 6.0 backend system with extended classic scenario):

1. A local contract exists in SRM for a material.

2. The material group for a material is modified in the backend system.

Is there a way to update the material group without having to manually update the contract? (in our case, thousands of materials are being modified, related to many contracts in SRM).

In SRM, local contracts are created as a "snapshot" Since we are using the Plan-driven procurement scenario, when a material group is modified, the requirement is sent to SOCO instead of creating an automatic PO. This, because the contract has the "original" material group, thus, not recognizing the modified material as part of the contract.

Let me know if you have any information about this (massive update of material groups in a contract's material).

We have found the same problem. We are going to affort a redefinition of material group (category) and we will find this problem a lot of times.

Is ther anyway to actualize the item category? or to take the data master of material in SRM (t-code COMMPR01)?
